If you can find a small sawmill nearby they might be willing to mill it for you if you can get it to them.

You will have to convince them it has no metal in it of course.  And if it is not forest grown then who knows what it may contain.  Also you will have to cross cut it into two pieces.  But then I would suggest doing that anyway - rather unlikely to find a buyer who needs twenty foot slabs.

The mill then might just charge you by the hour; or my local mill charge by the cubic foot.  Research needed in your area.

Slabbed up a “ absolutely no steel in it” big beech as a favour for a farmer friend, hit steel on every single pass luckily the stellite tipped x cut blades coped but quite frankly it was a total waste of a day.

From recent experience, for about £1500 you could buy a big second hand chainsaw (90-125cc) and a cheap eco mill and have a crack at it yourself.  Because the chainsaw is contained/protected in the mill, you don't strictly need a saw with a chainbrake (which the older saws don't have making them less desirable).

Its what I charge anyway. Ive heard similar prices from other members here as well.

If its so much perhaps you should get into milling as well. :D

The rate sounds good if you can get it 😁I'm very interested in getting a chainsaw mill and later this year once my tree surgery business is running I fully plan to plank up almost anything that could be valuable/good for projects.
