Black walnut - will the allelopathic juglone affect other trees nearby?

Help - a customer has planted Juglans Nigra amoungst other trees ie lime, maple, ash, syc, hornbeam, chestnut, alder et al - will this be a problem? Typical distances are 3-4m.

More likley the Juglans will struggle to get water amd nutrients with the allready establised trees.What age are the establised trees?

 

Dont think it will be too much of a problem for the surrounding trees,not if its a young tree to mature tree ratio.

Loads of middle aged ash and syc around but lots of same size saplings planted at same time... and close... Have read some nasty stuff re the toxicity etc..

MMMmm..dont know much about the ecology of Juglone, but may be risky planting new saplings too close to it.Better to be safe and re establish the walnut in the middle of a lawn away from saplings.I would think as the root area expands so will the risk of the toxicty to other plants.
