7.5T C1 consultation and outcome?

Hi,

 

The government has been in consultation about the possibility of allowing those with a normal car licence (B) to be able to drive 7.5T C1 vehicles. The call for evidence deadline is today. Does anyone know how long these things take to know the outcome / see the results etc? Basically, when will we know if those with a normal car licence will be able to get behind the wheel of a C1?

 

@Justme might be able to give some insight? Your posts have been very helpful before.

All we know for sure so far is it ends today.

 

My personal take is that they wont get a decision out fast like for the BE.

 

They are now on the 3rd head of the DFT since the consultation started. The gov are falling apart so I think they have bigger fish to fry.

 

We will see.

I think they will go for removal of the test but mandatory training, but we will see.
