Work opportunity in Cumbria

[Tom at Heartwood]

Our businesses combines tree work, woodland management,  sawmilling and firewood production.  We operate from our own farm a few miles from Shap in Cumbria. We generally work fairly locally and have many clients including private land/woodland owners and farmers. We are set up for small-scale forestry harvesting with Valtra tractor and timber trailer, Unimog skidder and working horses.

 

We have opportunities for workers to contribute to the various aspects of the business. We need self-motivated, practically capable, hard and smart working people to join the team.

 

We prioritise safety, efficiency and productivity in the workplace and also welcome practical and creative problem solving. We enjoy our work and are not shy of graft. 

 

The work that we have scheduled for the coming months includes woodland felling and thinning along with sawmilling and firewood processing.

 

We are open-minded about whether this is full-time or part-time, employed or self-employed.  Relevant experience is preferable along with chainsaw training/certification - but we're willing to consider all possibilities in terms of background and work history. We can look at apprenticeship schemes if appropriate.
