Hi everyone, I am starting up a sawmill in Angola, Africa with 2 Woodmizer LT40s. My problem is that the saw runs off the wheels after 3 or 4 revolutions. The manual is not very informative unfortunately. Can anyone give me an idea how to solve this? Thanks

It's 30 years since I ran a woodmizer and I never needed to change anything but I did post your request to the original owner from back then and he came back with this:

"The tracking adjustment is on the front side of the sawhead, in front of the idle-side blade wheel!

Loosen the locknut and adjust a little at a time until the blade is tracking in the correct position!

A small adjustment can shift the blade tracking a lot!

but the blade must be tensioned correctly and the wheels must have the correct woodmizer belts on them which are rounded rather than flat."

Hi Openspaceman, many thanks for your reply. In the meantime I noticed that there were a few fundamental issues wrong with the first machine. The drive wheel was out of alignment because presumably it had suffered an impact and the second wheel was completely misaligned. This wheel I managed to align with the bolts on the back from more than 2 cm in either plane to abt a millimeter. The whole drivetrain is now being dismantled because the base plate of the bearing is bent 6 mm over 15 cm width, which transates into more than 2 cm on the wheel... I will keep you posted of my progress. Thanks and best regards
