Hamadryads fungus diary

Recommended Posts

"The yellow flat-footed fly (Agathomyia wankowiczii) is unique in its ability to cause a gall on the Artist’s Fungus (Ganoderma applanatum) - a fungus commonly found in woodlands on deciduous dead wood"

That is indeed a fine contextual shot. :thumbup1:

Did you drug the bleeder to get it still enough for a shot

Here, said galls in formation from the Whip last year.

So, back to todays finds, I posted Phelinus tuberculosis some time ago showing a brown rotted cross section, now Ive seen this often, even though Phelinus are white rots, and I had my suspicions but never seen the basidiocarps to prove the the second and brown decay fungi. Today my thoughts were confirmed, here we see the brown rotting laetiporus remains (white chalky) and the P. tuberculosis lower right of stem. very common situation on Prunus Pissardiis, especialy stressed st trees.
