A veritable feast there Tony:eating: Seems all the puffballs around here are dormant, or the land use has changed, shame cos they great nosh wiith a curry paste and fired in butter. Hmmm I see Amanita rubescens is only edible when cooked!!

I think it had been cut a short while ago, but not certain for regular cycle, going to find out who owns it (probably parish) and get them to slow it down end of summer if poss, as you know the ceps a rare find this far south.

Well, for a month or so ive had a pretty iffy broadband connection, making downloads a pain in the posterior, my new dongle has arrived, and my word its fast!

yes on beech, though it loves ash, sycamore as well, lots of them on this tree at the mo, maybe catch em on the foray if were lucky!
