Tree identification please! (Possibly black poplar)

Hey!

Could some help identify what type of tree this is? I’ve looked into it and think it may be a black poplar but would be great for someone to confirm.

Its got quite a lean to it and has started breaking my neighbours fence. I’m considering getting it chopped down - it’s about 10+ meters away from any house but is on clay soil where the houses were built

in 1900. Is there any risk it could cause heave on any of the properties?

Images below.

Thanks all!

Soil heave is only a consideration when the tree predates the structure(s), and there was a pre-existing soil moisture deficit.
If the tree is older than all the buildings on site and you're on clay, it would be prudent to get some site investigations done to determine heave potential. Should you wish to deck it.
