Just to give an update to anyone thats intrested, i started the cs 30 course today, it went really well and Dennis is a really nice instructor, the other 3 lads on the course have little or no chainsaw experience which means were all at the same level, amazing that 60 percent of the day was talking about the saw chain, theres definetly more than meets the eye to a chain, and im just about to read some of the stuff given to us to read (homework), will let you all know how tommorow goes, we're at a small forest next to a reservoir in bolton off the A 666,

Thanks for reading

Hello again, finished off cs 30 today and started cs 31 about 11am reading through the shedule....my god do i have to remember all that word for word :confused1: , watching dennis risk assess the surounding area then fell a medium to small pine, didnt look too hard, then it was our turn, i kept forgetting to pull my visor down (maybe i should just leave it down all day), i felled my tree correctly but i bricked it when i was just finishing my back cut as dennis shouted "THE TREE'S FALLING!" I didnt expect it as i'd watched the other lads cut there back cut and then use a felling level to send it over, mine had just enough forward lean to send itself, anyways dennis said it was an excelent cut (ahem!)........and it would of got me a pass, now its time to read the schedules AGAIN...lol....thanks for reading guys, please leave comments or/and advice guys cheers.
