rope/friction cord diameters

if any cord is rated below 22kn then it should not be used in any configuration open or closed (with regards to best practice) which cords do you mean? many cords are plenty strong but have a lower melting point which is of much greater concern than the mbs which is 15kn at terminations anyway. i'd recomend the lyros 8mm cord over any other if that helps
