Any other Arborist photographers using vintage lenses ?

Anyone else using or buying older vintage camera lenses for photography or even just collecting?

I bought about 10 lenses last summer, the oldest being about 50 years old. What I learned is that some old lenses sitting in bags or storage have soared in value or are becoming more scare to find for sale. A few due to the blurred background highlight circles looking like soap bubbles. One lens that was maybe $40 used 5 years ago, costs upward of $500 now.

This is an old Zeiss Jena Sonnar 180mm I bought this month. Apparently stored for 30 years or more and in new condition. The 2nd photo is a scene photographed with one of Canon's older 45mm tilt shift lenses.

Just trying to get into photography, mainly wildlife. My wife bought me a bridge camera last year, and I love it, although I still don't know how to use it properly. Have got my grandad's old camera in loft with various types of lenses, might have to dig them out and have a play.

If they are in the loft, hopefully it doesn't get hot up there in summer. Heat can apparently cause oil to thin and run in lenses, getting onto aperture blades and rendering them near useless unless shipped for a dismantle and cleaning. I was unaware, then after reading about aperture blades more, learned why so many sellers on Ebay were showing photos of the inside of lenses.

Here's another I grabbed a couple months ago. A  Canon FD 300mm, with mostly portraits and weddings in mind for this one.
