Monterey Pine

Acer Palmatum

Had a Monterey Pine limb fail over the weekend noticed these small white brackets under some bark that had fallen off.

They appear to be up to shoulder height around the trunk.

Just wondering if anyone can ID as client has row of these and it’s the second limb to fail in 3 months.

The last limb to go was from a neighboring tree.

The crown has been getting thinner slowly over the last 18 months, I’ve put this down to the drought we had a couple of summers ago.

The trees are in a very high target area.

Thanks in advance.
