New log saw

Hello all. Looking to buy a new log saw. Been using a ferguson cordwood saw which is pto driven and brilliant but no guards at all so thinking need more safety as I get older.

What would anyone recommend?. Looked at ryetec and binderberger.

Any thoughts greatly appreciated.

If you dont mind paying, the Binderberger, supberbly engineered, galvanised and painted, unless sommat has changed from 10 or 15 years ago. I proper lusted for a Binderbeger or Posch.

BUT

I bought a significently cheaper PTO Krpan, from Marshalls(also Binderberger agents, or at least they were) which satisfies  my limited needs.

My opinion only, but consider a log elevator, as the difference in being able to let the cut logs drop into the hopper and be "whisked" away, to a trailer, bulk bag, or even log pile,  it simply makes such a difference to productivity.

Because I also bought a Krpan telescopic log elevator, and back then, from recall, it was about £2000.00 well spent.

p.s.

I tried the 230V Krpan, but it was distinctly under-powered, even with a brand new sharp blade and not having 3Ph I had to go PTO, but otherwise 3Ph every time.

Thanks Marcus. Marshall's are still the agent for binderberger. I've no 3 phase so will resort to pro. I'm definitely in the thoughts too of an elevator,  anything to make life a bit easier. Will keep you posted.
