We have an exciting business opportunity to join a small, but rapidly-growing arb business as a managing partner.
About Us
We’re in our second year of operation with 100% year-on-year growth and a profitable bottom line. Now that our business is established, I'm looking to hand over the operational aspects of the business to a business partner. I’m looking for an enthusiastic individual with experience of running an arb business to join me to manage the business and drive growth.
Our business strategy is simple: we address the high-end of the arb market by investing heavily in new, state-of-the-art equipment, expecting a high level of competence/training from our staff and employing the best arborists to offer our clients the highest standard of work possible. We foster an environment where learning and continual development is core to the job.
The funding, the business, the equipment and the arb team are all in place and I'm now looking for a partner to take over the day-to-day running of the business.
The Role
The headline responsibility of the role is to develop the business and manage the contracts so that the team is consistently utilised five days a week. This will involve managing the client interface, quoting for the business and managing the arb team. The team are largely autonomous and very capable, but in the near term there may be the need to climb and/or ground for the team from time to time.
The role would initially be on a probationary sub-contractor basis as an arborist on the team. You can learn about us, we can learn about you. That role would then ideally progress to a formal Director role in return for a shareholding in the business for the right individual (details to be negotiated). Remuneration for the role would then be via a Director’s salary plus dividend based on the shareholding as a partner in the business.
About You
The individual we’re looking for will ideally be an experienced arborist with excellent arboricultural knowledge. You’ll ideally have an appetite for and a good understanding of business (and individual) risk. You’ll be thinking at a management level, be motivated by enabling the success of the company and be happy to be rewarded based on that success. We’ll expect you to have demonstrable experience in the management of an arb business, including both line management and experience of engaging with clients. If you’re known to a customer base in or around the city it would be a bonus.
Interested? Drop your CV to me at [email protected] with a short email outlining your motivation. I’ll look forward to hearing from you!
