When I saw the title of the thread I thought you were going to mill the leylandii stems into the new fence posts. Now that would be sweet!

 

Me too- good timber leylandii, if you can get it in big pieces, which is fairly uncommon. The sapwood rots readily enough, but the heart wood is very durable and hardly splits, being made up of c.macrocarpa x c.nootkatensis which are both very durable timbers.:001_smile:

yeah that would have been good if we did that, but the customer was keeping all the cord wood, plus it wasnt the straightest anyway and would have been a pain to mill stuff that size and shape

hey tommer, asked my granddad about the austin, he didnt know what model it actually is, and its not the orginal engine either which was a petrol, its now got a 6 litre ishhhh diesel in it :thumbup:
