Year Old Delonix Regia Sapling

Last May I planted some Delonix Regia seeds, and after a hard winter, they're finally starting to bounce back. I repotted the saplings about two weeks ago, hoping that some new soil and a bigger grow pot would benefit them... but one of them isn't looking so hot, and I'm worried.

The first inch or so of the stem/trunk seems to be dying, and I don't know what to do! Should I trim off the dead portion? I'm scared to trim it because i would be trimming the main stem- all the branches have shriveled up and died.

 

Any advice at all would be awesome. I'm worried for the little guy, and I've become attached...

The tree was looking really dreadful before repotting. I wouldn't say it's necessarily gotten worse since, but it definitely hasn't improved. The two others I repotted seem to be improving, however.
