It started making a noise last ting on Friday. I traced it to a lose bolt behind  the fan. I have removed the 2 grub screws on the pulley, is it now just a case of attaching a 3 legged puller to force the pulley off the shaft?

What you need to do is put one of the grub screws into the 'other' threaded hole , tighten it and then tap the pulley carefully with a hammer back towards the fan. Keep tightening and tapping the pulley,  tap it close to the taper lock and you should be able to push the pulley back off the taper lock .

Then if the taper lock is still tight on the shaft , try wd40 or carefully insert a screwdriver in the slot to open it slightly but take care or it'll break in two. 

To refit it , tighten the two grub screws in their opposite holes evenly and torque up to 48nm ..

Thanks Jase,  I got the pulley and fan off and the offending bolt had snapped in two so i'll need to look getting the other end extracted as i'd rather let them do it plus it's still under warranty.

Great advice tanks. Andrew Symons in Crediton had the remaining piece out easily enough.  There was only 3 or 4mm of broken bolt remaining  in the captive nut so we guess the bolt must have loosened off, backed out until the fan came into contact with the Allen head and snapped it hence the noise. An easy enough fix.
