Sewing eyes into prusik rope

I've acquired 4 1m pieces of 8mm 12 strand kernmantle rope, I believe it's a Bluewater rope but I'm not 100% sure. Is there any safe way I can sew eyes into the end so I can use these for prusiks in the future? My main use would be attaching pulleys to rigging line when setting up 3, or 5:1 pulley systems.

 

Any advice would be greatly appreciated.

Do you know of any online instructions so I can at least read them over and see if I even want to attempt it?

not that i know of bro. im going to talk to some people who sew up dyneema slings and can do rope up to 8mm and ill ask them for you when i catch up with them.

Shaun, you need to be careful when sewing and splicing eyes etc. into ropes as if not done by the manufacturer or a recognised, competent/qualified person these items will not pass a LOLER inspection as the CE certification will not be valid. The safety of the item cannot be verified.

If it's not safe I won't do it. I understand that lives are dependent on this equipment and that's no joke. Was moreso curious if it was possible or not.

if you look at the number of passes the twine takes in a sewn eye i think you'd be surprised at how dense it is and how much each pass stiffens up teh rope.

 

I'd imagine with a lot of very careful stitching you could sew it, but i don't thin it'd be worth the effort.

 

marlow used to do instructions for siezing eyes but i'd give it a miss, i've never tried it as the eyes it produces don't look load bearing.

 

 

i'd acccept that you now have 4 pieces of short useless rope.

Not going to try to attempt sewing eyes into these ropes. Honestly I'm not suprised that it's come to this outcome. Thanks for the input guys.
