Any folk here studied recently at Merrist Wood college.

Looking to go there in new year on 9 WTSC, (AKA 10 WTSC).

Where are there good lodgings?? Halls on campus, or local B & B with the Cathy Bates or Roy Cropper style owners!! Failing that hammock and poncho in the woods!!

Any advice and top tips on food, meals, costs per week, all the goodstuff please.:001_smile:

Couple of years ago it was £100 a week on campus or there abouts. One guy had a room with an old couple nearby, they provide accomodation for students at the college, think he got a list from the college for rooms available nearby.

I stayed in a camper in the woods on site:thumbup:

The guys staying at the campus had a nightmare of a time with young idiots causing havoc all night every night.

i stayed in the halls and it was a nightmare with all the stupid golfer kids. can face a stern telling off for having a beer in your room too. no booze in the halls.you are pretty cut of out there without a car but there is a bus service a five minute walk from the main gate that will take you to the shops. there are a few good pubs about too, the worplestone hotel is pretty close and good for a feed but can be expensive the cricketers is good for cheap pub grub and friendly too. its a great course, if Jack is still there you will learn a lot from him and the rest of the guys. good luck

:thumbup:Gents,

Thanks for your comments and suggestions.

I don't plan to saty in the halls. I have had a local accomm list emailed to me from the college so will call the b & b's and go and have a look see.

The idea of a camper van sounds pretty good!!

Once again, cheers and regards.:001_smile:
