The Savernake Forest is a special place, one of the most important ancient tree sites in the country / europe - plus its the place that sparked my interest in trees having been taken there camping every summer in my youth. I'll be lucky enough to be part-based there soon and am looking forward to getting to know every inch of the place!

I'm due to take some of my student groups up to the Savernake in the next few weeks, I've been plenty of times before but would appreciate other peoples thoughts on the site - any particular highlights - hidden gems etc.

Below are just a few pics of one of the monster Beech that live there... its massive!!!
