done this a couple of days ago for a regular client she was stuck for idea's in what to do with river bank area so i passed the idea of a monolith, as she said there was bats and a lot a of birds around. i no this is a grey area for some people but i feel this was the right situation for a monolith :001_smile:

Very resourceful

Even if not doing too often, worth keeping a length of tree tie in the van with a few nails.

Does the job nicely.

very nice idea never thought about a tree tie thanks for the heads up chap

how big is the cavity behind those pieces?

On ours, I just shave off an ich or two off the back of the wedge. More than plenty.

Also the same off the bottom, so access is provided at the base for fluffy things to climb in & up.

hi i have read a few bits and pieces on bats and quiet a few species like full contact in a cavity or behind flaking bark. So as David said shaving a few inches is more than enough to provide a little bit of potential bat habitat. Good pictures!
