Any ideas what this is?? Looks like a beech from afar but certainly isn't judging by the buds.

 

Fairly certain the customer said it flowers pink??? (Was a few weeks ago so don't hold me to that)

Looks a bit like Amalanchier to me.

Crown structure very similar to Amelanchier but could possibly be liquidambar. Still getting to grips with winter/spring twig ID lol. Apart from the obvious ones.

Be interested to see the leaf burst and any blossom.

 

Amelanchier is indeed opposite but all the ones I have seen have multiple stems such as snowy mepsil not what looks like a single bole.
