I used my ms440 for milling sweet chestnut 12-20" it cuts well

With a 25" bar and 3/8 ripping chain. I also tried an 051,056,075

They all work, but for how long? My 440 is back as a cross cutting

saw and I've bought an 880 for milling. The old saws work fine until they

break down. Then you really pay.

Get a 660 and an Alaskan mill you won't look back :)

Best milling saw by far is in my opinion the 076. I use one virtually daily. Also I use a logosol system. Only downside is the saw is heavy. Other than this I'd find a good 460. If you can get a 076 for £250 as mentioned above I'd get it. I run a 30" bar as standard.

 

If you haven't used a saw with the torque of something like an 880/881/076 then they'll be a revelation.
