Ive got to fell and grind a lot trees with Platipus Rootball Fixing System Strap holding them down.

 

I was wondering if anyone hand any experience with this problem and how you over came it?

Yes, I replaced a number of plane trees which had this system. I uncovered the tensioner cable and just used bolt croppers to cut and pull the cable out, a few I released the tensioner. and any lose mash matting just pulls away easy.

 

The 3 ground anchor cables I cut any lose off out of the way. though didn't pose to much of a problem.

 

I did try grinding one stump with the cables in place and the cable just wrapped around the head.

 

Don't think there a major problem just requires a little work to uncover the cables before you start.
