It was actually forecast! Lovely british summer! My birthday used to be a safe bet in late July but can't rely on that anymore

It's because the jetstream has been forced south. It should be somewhere over Iceland, but is currently over Spain and, as a consequence, we are getting te sort of weather that Iceland would have this time of year. Sweet.
