    Hello, I’m wondering what this striking tree is in Parc Leopold, Brussels. The fruit look like green apples on the branches, but on the ground they are rotting to reveal big stones like peaches and they smell slightly lemony. It’s shed nearly all its leaves now.

    Most of the Ilex trees in a small woods have these growths that i'm calling cankers. Are these cankers, if so please provide a research reference. Not sure what breed this is either. Thank you. Sam.
