Hi. Apols for starting a new thread. I am new to this forum and this seemed the best place to put this post. I have an old Husky 61 - how old I'm not sure as it came to me at least second hand. It has run well and done a lot of cutting. It recently cut out while in the middle of logging. Checked fuel - plenty. No amount of tugging and swearing would restart it. Left it inside for a day as it was a wet day when it died. Still no good. Changed the plug - no good. Checked for a spark - no spark (even in the dark in case it was hard to see). Checked fuel was getting to the cylinder - fine. Suspected the kill switch so isolated. Still no spark. So tending to suspect the coil. Coil is the 'new' sort and looks original (#5036202-03). Number doesnt match anything I can find as a replacement. I have had #503901401 and #544018401 suggested as replacements. So questions are: Given my work so for - is it likely to be the coil? Are the online 'cheap' replacements worth it. eg ]HUSQVARNA 50/51/55/61/254262 SEE LIST IGNITION COIL NEW | eBay The saw is old and I am a bit reluctant to throw 75 quid at it unless I have to? That said, it is an old buddy. Any advice on the correct part number? Thanks, John
