Glendale carries out a significant number of woodland & countryside management contracts throughout Dorset, Wiltshire, Oxfordshire and along the M4 corridor and now require a manager to oversee and grow our business in the area. Services at this office include woodland and estates management, vegetation management, fencing, tree surgery and grounds maintenance. Based at our offices in Savernake Forest, Marlborough, the successful candidate will be a proactive manager who will be able to offer sales, operational, financial and commercial management. This is a hands on role involving monitoring the progress of teams on site and taking quick and effective action to maintain both high productivity, client satisfaction and profits. You will have full responsibility for the office order and quotes pipeline so candidates with a strong local network of contacts will be at an advantage. Candidate should be qualified in woodland or countryside management with a demonstrable wealth of experience in a similar role and hold a valid UK drivers licence. Ensuring all work meets quality and safety standards, whilst maintaining tight control of costs, programming and monitoring of work are all pivotal to the role. In addition, you will need good time management and administrative skills, display good people management, coupled with excellent communication skills. We are also recruiting for Utility Arborists and Utility Surveyors for the Coventry & Warwickshire area. Requirements: Arborists - Need previous experience of a range of Arboricultural tasks, NPTC certificates CS30, 31, 38, 39, 40 & 41, and have a license to tow. Utility Arborists - Need previous experience of utility works, and along with the above NPTC certificates also need UA1, UA2.1, 2.2 & 2.3 Utility Surveyors - Need previous experience of utility surveying, and have as a minimum NPTC certificates UA1, 2.1, 5.1 & 5.2. Arboricultural Junior Manager Location: West Midlands Salary: Dependant on Skills and Experience Contract Type: Full Time, Permanent Glendale, the “green services” division of Parkwood Holdings plc has revenues of £45 million and operates throughout the UK. Glendale’s activities include grounds management, countryside management, horticulture and golf course management. Based at our Sandwell or Solihull depot, the candidate will play a key role in the day to day planning of Arboriculture operations undertaken in the Midlands. The role will include, but is not limited to, the implementation of management plans and the surveying of trees in the delivery of arboriculture works to our Local Authority, commercial and private client base. The successful candidate will be responsible for operational aspects of Arboriculture teams to ensure high levels of professionalism, performance and productivity. They should also be able to demonstrate and have an understanding of current health and safety practices. The role requires meeting with customers on a daily basis, pricing and planning works, monitoring quality standards in accordance with our Arboricultural Association Approved Contractor status, Chas, Bali accreditation – to name a few. The ideal candidate should have a good practical and technical knowledge in Arboriculture – ideally qualified to technician level, NVQ 3, Diploma or Degree Level as well as holding NPTC Certificates, PA1 & PA6 The candidate will also have a strong understanding of H&S, ISO9001 & ISO14001 standards and have an excellent network in the Midlands area. Candidates must also hold a full UK driver licence preferably with a B+E trailer entitlement and have a flexible approach to working.
