At a bit of a cross-roads with whether to cut this tree down or not. It's an approx 9m high cherry tree ( reaches near top of the house) and sits about 3m away from the building. Located in Wandsworth, SW London (I'm guessing clay base like most of London?). Concerned that cutting it down might cause heave? Thanks

Cherry Tree - safe distance from building
MatthewE1 posted a question in Homeowners Tree Advice Forum
Hi, I'm hoping someone can help - i'm a first time buyer and think we've found a house for our family - only trouble is there's a cherry tree in the back garden. The trunk is 1.1m thick and it stands about 5m tall and is 9.6 m from the back of the house (small-ish size garden) and there's a brick shed about 3m away from the tree. Is the tree likely to cause any issues? I'm trying to locate a local abhorist to confirm so that would be another potential request for advice - in the Bromley/SE London area. Thanks -
Enjoying a KFC - (Bargin Bucket - can't be doing with all that new fangled 'chicken zinger' rubbish) - in the nice park in the middle of Haywards Heath (sussex) the other evening. At first, I thought this cherry tree had interesting red leaf / green leaf ability. On closer inspection, things are not looking so well............... (mind you - from a distance you can see the crown is thinning rather) Can't say I have noticed anything like it before.... Any ideas to the cause? Is it common? Is it becoming more widespread? Should I have gone for popcorn chicken?
