    Solo 650 VA

Hi Wurzel, I am the owner of a SOLO 650VA chainsaw which my father bought in 1976 and still I am using nowadays with no problems and great performance! Having said that, from the pictures I see in this post, it is very clear the WRONG assembly of your chainsaw fuel lines: the BLACK pipe connected on the left side of the tank which goes to the carburator must actually be connected in the place where the breather/vent pipe (the one with the screw on its top) is now connected and vice-versa. The black pipe is the fuel intake to the carburator; The nipple on the left side of the tank where is now connected the BLACK pipe, it is in fact the breather of the fuel tank to prevent its vacuum. The metallic clamp just under the breather screw it serves to hold it upright in place with the same assembly screw that you will use to mount the white plastic carter that also covers the ON-OFF switch. Last detail: you should make sure that one of the fuel intake pipes is connected to the fuel draft filter from inside the tank. Hope my eplanation is clear enough to help you start again your chainsaw.
