  1. The top section of the central leader and a couple of radials on my 5 year old plum tree have not budded at all this year. Assume this wood must be dead. Should I cut it back now to help remaining radials grow or leave it til later in year or after fruiting ? And how far down should I cut the leader ? Thanks.
