  1. * Update * Resetting the autotune seems to have fixed the problem, thank you for the tip
  2. Thank you for the info, if resetting the autotune does not resolve the issue I will PM ADW...
  3. Apologies for the confusion, I was speaking metaphorically. I just need the saw to work well for normal felling operations...
  4. Thank you for the suggestion No, I was assuming that the repair technician would have done so if necessary. The operators manual has the attached not very specific guidance Based on som recent Googling I will proceed to reset the Autotune as follows 1) Run at idle for 6 minutes 2) Run at full revs under load for 1 minute (Rip cut log)
  5. Dear Internet, I have been the happy user of a Husqvarna 550XPG MKII for the last couple of years. Summary of experience - light, powerful and responsive. The saw is now playing up - periodic stalling, most frequently when cold, or when placed under high load quickly Fuel used - Aspen 2-stroke (fresh) Air filter - cleaned Fuel filter - changed Spark plug - looks good For the last month I have tried unsuccessfully to find a mechanic capable of fixing the problem. Mechanic 1 - Had the machine for 2 weeks, and then realised it was an Autotune, which was outside his comfort zone. Mechanic 2 (at a Husqvarna dealer) - Had the machine for 2 weeks, said they had fixed the problem by freeing the butterfly valve. But problem persist Can anyone recommend a good 2-stroke mechanic near North Yorkshire who is happy to nurse a Husqvarna Autotune saw back to racing form? Best regards Rod
  6. Dear Wise Ones, I have just upgraded from H25 to some shiny new S35G chain, but curiously finding it impossible to source the combination gauge specified in Husky documentation for the S35G Husky describe the use of the following gauges: 1) Part number 587 80 91-01 - as specified in 550XPG operators manual (2022) and 2) Part number 587 80 91-02 - as specified in 550XPG operators manual (2023) Neither appear to be available for sale in the UK Am I likely to get away with using the old combi gauge (505 69 81-09) that I use for H25 chain... ? AFAIK the differences between S35G and H25 chain in terms of angles are as follows Down angle: H25 = 10 degrees, S35G = 0 degrees - I figure that I can probably hold the file level Side plate angle: H25 = 80 degrees, S35G = 60 degrees - This may be more of a challenge... I doubt that I am the first to face this conundrum. Looking forward to a deluge of wisdom... Wormwood
