I have a few hours to move it. I have been doing some research and I plan to put it in a bag with its original dirt and the tree and poke a couple holes in it for oxygen. I plan to move it myself with a shovel. Being that the layer of dirt it’s growing on is not even an inch thick, it’s not in the ground easily. basically my plan thus far is to drive it over to my house (1hr drive), then keep the tree In the shade while I work on the ground I plan to plant the tree in. Next I will clear the grass in the area, then spread compost along a 10 or so foot diameter around where I plan to plant it. Then I’ll use my rototiller to mix everything up and make the soil loose and well drained. Then I plan to plant it a little more on the shallow side because I heard that it is better for the roots especially because it is not deep in the ground currently and it will sink a little once I water it in the new area. I asked around a few other forums and this is all I gathered together. Does this sound like a good plan in your view? thank you

I want to move this eastern white pine tree to my property. Right now it is growing on top of a layer of dirt in front of an abandoned garage. There is concrete under the roots. I wanted to dig it up and plant it in my yard. I checked the ph in my yards soil and it was 6.5 which is lightly less acidic than the soil it’s growing on now (6.25). I know these pines like more acidic but is 6.5 ok? Also where should I plant it? Somewhere where it gets the most sun? Or should I let it get shade too? Also my biggest question is what soil is good for these. I read that loose soil is the best but my yards soil is not exactly loose. It’s more dense and compact. Is this ok? Or is there a way I can add some compost or something around the tree? I need a bunch of help lol
