  1. Thanks for your reply! I was told plants will be approx. 15-25 cm long. It’s a soft ground, but not mounded- basically flat planting in a small grass. Estate wants us to do the job the end of April, so I guess it’s either cell grown plants or they just don’t care. We’ve done planting for them in the middle of the summer aswell, so that’s nothing new for them. What would be your approximate price for this kind of ground for planting+vole guard+bamboo stick and how would you price it if it was in mounds?
  2. Could anybody enlighten me- what are the average prices for Planting plus installing vole guards with a small bamboo sticks? A job’s coming up, but I have never priced up a vole guard job before. Is 45-50p per planting+vole guard+bamboo stick a decent price or should it go up or down? Thanks
  3. Not sure if this is the right place to ask, but hopefully somebody can answer me this. When installing Tubex green large tree guards- is there a specific direction a tree guard needs to be facing? I mean North, South etc? I think I remember someone mentioning something like that? Or is it windward? Thanks
  4. Good evening! Just a quick question- what are the prices for planting+guards (1.2m)/stakes? Job’s coming up with 10000 tubes, but not sure what are the prices nowadays. Any info will be appreciated. Thanks
  5. Looking for 2 experienced tree planters to join our team for planting throughout March and possibly April-May. Sites are located in Perthshire/Aberdeenshire. Team is located in Inverness, so can pick you up and drop off in Inverness or anywhere on route to the sites. Pay is per planted tree. These positions are temporary with the possibility of permanent work in the company if the right attitude is shown. If interested- send me message here or use the phone number below Thanks 7522604899
  6. Hi comrades! Wanted to ask to those of you who does planting jobs and stuff. What are the prices for beat up today? Have a job coming up with 15k trees (just beat up- no tubes or anything else), but haven't really priced planting before. Site's quite straight forward- flat, nicely mounded. Tree death rate there is probably around 10-15%, no more. Any info will be much appreciated! Thanks
  7. 2 guys needed for tomorrow and Saturday (28. and 29.th of October) for tree dragging at the Christmas tree farm in Evanton. Tree length approx. 150-180 cm. 8am-18pm 140£ If interested give me a shout at 07522604899

    Quad bike

Anyone knows any companies that hire Quad bikes? Or maybe someone rents them out privately? Have a small planting job and need a Quad bike for a day to deliver plants all over the site. I’m based in Inverness and area.
  9. I remember not so long ago a person, who didn’t hold a spraying certificates (PA1,6), by law was able to do spraying, but under supervision of a person who is holding such certificates. Does anyone know if that is still an option now or has the law recently changed? Need to do a small spraying job, but not sure if I can send all of my guys, since one of them doesn’t hold a licence yet, but is about to do a course this month. Thanks!
  10. We have a business bank account, so we’re good in that field. All the documentation you mentioned- is it the same for all companies (can you copy-paste them from others) or are they made specifically for each company?
  11. Hey, everyone. Currently setting up my own business- Limited company with a friend. Planning on doing planting jobs, fencing, tubing, tree felling, spraying etc. so my question is- what documentations do I need to run a business in forestry? We’re planning on working with other private Limited companies as sub-contractors and also with bigger commercial comapnies. I know I need PL & EL insurances, but is there anything else I would need to get jobs from, for example, Forestry and Land Scotland, like Health and Safety documents and etc? We have all the necessary qualifications/tickets. I would appreciate if you could throw in here everything I would need (mostly documentation) so I can get those ready before asking anyone for some work to be done. Located in Scotland, Highlands. Thank you!
