  1. Thx for the post Old Woodchip, appreciate your experience of Haix. Sounds like they have gone the same way as Meindl, and a real shame. Will have to look and see what else is on the market, preferably with vibram soles
  2. Thx for the post leaders, I agree. If we all raise our disapproval and find better alternatives = Haix, Meindl might listen. Meindl are a really nice boot, but their durability has dropped massively.
  3. Thanks for the reply Macpherson, well informed and I will definitely send in to fix as I think there is some life left in the pair. It is shame they have changed the mid-sole compound. Best wishes.
  4. Thanks for the post Woody. I'm hoping LSR boot repair in Lancashire can fix as they offer sole and mid-sole replacement, but will have to wait and see. My post is mainly about my disappointment of Meindl durability, having once been an industry leader. Are they now a poor second to other makes? Would like to know if other people are having the same problem. Best wishes.
  5. Thx for the reply Ty. I will send off to repair, it's just a shame I have to after 14 months. My older Meindl boots never had this problem. Tom
  6. Is anyone else having problems with their Meindl boots mid sole decay. I've been wearing Meindl boots in Arb for the last 20+ years and they have been comfortable and solid straight out of the box, but my last two pairs have only lasted about 14 months with both pairs failing at the mid sole but plenty of grip still left on the sole. Older boots/models lasted 2+ years, I think they have changed the build design for the worse and I will now be looking at Haix boots. Would like to hear from anybody with the same Meindl boot problem. Take care.
