  1. Thanks! Appreciate the positive comments. I’m restoring it all back to how it should have been kept before it was “modernised”. Doing all the work myself so it will take a bit of time!
  2. Cheers!! Yeah built in 1865. That’s Tinto hill in the photo. In the bedroom I knew there would have been an old fire place so I managed to find it then hack off all the old lime plaster before cleaning it up and restoring the stone before repointing.. still got a fair bit to repoint.. but it’s a start
  3. Here’s one in the snow a couple of weeks ago, we moved in on 21st dec (four kids) and no heating so that was my first priority. Ive opened up 3/6 fire places and put stoves in to give us heat. I’ve fitted an lpg combi to get me started but intend on fitting a wood gasification boiler in the next few months. Started stock piling fire wood.. for down the line (once its seasoned) no idea how long Itl last me yet.
  4. Thanks for replying, the long stems that are left behind are very much like dead wood straws if that makes sense.
  5. Thanks, I have a glosphate based weed killer here, so il wait until they start to green up and spot treat first as they are in clumps. Couple of sheep would probably graze them out quicker!
  6. Thanks for your reply! If you think the walls bad you want to see the house... built in 1865 and I’ve just started finally renovating, that walls nothing compared to rest .
  7. Hi there, just joined after reading forum for a good few years, recently bought a house with 3acres which some is a field and another small portion is a small wooded area. I have these weeds in clusters here and there and was looking to see if anyone can help me Id them, previous owner has strummed a good few. Thanks, mark
