    I also like Charnwoods + have owned several - I've now gone over to Burley though - they are just incredibly efficient - I think I'm burning half the wood I did with Charnwood

    agree with the above i’ve always bought charnwoods up to now - 7 so far - but recently moved + have put 3 burleys into this house. they’re brilliant + hugely efficient - as long as you only burn properly dry wood + kindling. otherwise they just won’t have it. they are wood only though and top flue only

    thanks a lot for the contributions to this thread - - - I'm quite taken with the esse ironheart - it looks much more convincing than the la nordicas - sturdier + warmer - double the cost though - - -

    anyone any experience of la nordica wood-burning range cookers? I’m thinking of a rosa xxl for heating + cooking - not for water
