  1. Thanks Slim. I have put hinges back where they were and unsrewed handle one turn. Handle now very tight when engaged. Paper slides out along top left edge only so will try that for the next burn.
  2. I have had a Clearview 500 wood burning stove for some years. Am excellent stove but recently have had brown deposit on right hand side of glass. This presumably because of an airleak round the seal cooling the glass. So I removed door, turned the hinges 180 degrees clockwise to tighten the seals. This at first was great as the now hotter glass burnt off the deposit as it should. However the stove now constantly burns far too hot (480deg+) even if both traps at bottom are closed. Also the flames are not that lovely lazy appearence I am used to but are still vigorous so air is getting in somewhere but where? I will admit that the door latch is now difficult to engage (I have to push the door in agaionst the seals) That might be a factor? Any ideas anyone? thanks. Peter
