  4. short answer, no. conservation area you can cut if you dont hear from them in the time. tpo you cant cut without permission. unlimited fine.
  5. head to twitter to express your disgust that asylum seekers have caused your tree to get blown over, then phone your local council and mp, do an interview with the local news crew to demand that the government does something about the wind that blew your tree over nearly killing you in your bed, campaign for the government to make high winds illegal. if youre a labour supporter, blame the tories for not building the tree roots enough. if youre a tory, blame labour for letting high winds blow your tree over by raising taxes. or if youre a normal person and not a jobless sponge, skip the above, knock out a quick email to your local planning with a photo of the tree then pay someone to cut it up and remove it all for firewood.

thats a stump thats gone sure enough when i grind stumps i take it about 6 inches below the ground so you can get grass over the top. but i dont usually do stumps cos its hassle. if they want you chasing every bit of root to get it all then it just costs more.

havent seen the photos, but stump sticks above the ground. if theres nothing sticking up out of the grass then the stump is gone and whats left is root. pays to always be clear before you start. but theres always gonna be one thats a dick about it

  16. yeah thats the face of a tree being buggered
  17. im thinking skip the driveway and consider some sort of temp surface. metal sheeting or hardened plastic? maybe a woodchip run to spare the root system, im sure such ideas wouldnt need planning permission? (but i dunno ive never done planning for a driveway)
  18. worth it? probably not. fun? yes. easier? yes. its like hitting every tree with a 881 on a 30inch bar. no job too small. no saw too big.
  19. find an honest politician. that should take you a while
  20. on the plus side, at least youre not clogging up the roads slowing down real motorists while you amble from place to place in your bus

  25. ive had all sorts. everyone will swear by their own opinion. the best boots ever are haix protector forest. and protector pro. and meindl woodwalker. and zamberlan. and pfanner... etc. you get the idea. very few of us have jumped around different boots i think pfanner zermatts are ok but expensive haix timber were supposed to be designed specifically as a climbing boot the original protector pro are belter, once theyrre worn in. theyre what i favour, or the new timber which ive not tried yet.
