    dogs!

lets be clear here, i place the blame fully and squarely on the dog owner. the dog is clearly too stupid to understand what a prick its being. the owner more often than not is also too stupid to understand what a prick the dogs is being but should know better or be banned from having a dog. teach your dog to behave normally or dont have one. same applies to badly-behaved children

    dogs!

its the dirty feet and hair too. youve taken the trouble to go home and shower and change into some tidy clothes so youre not coming into their home a stinking sweaty mess leaving a trail of sawdust and mud on their carpet, and youre rewarded with some manky little mutt that should have been shut in the cupboard before letting decent people in the house. and you just know if you even suggest them shutting it away before you call in, theyre gonna be slagging you off all over the place like you asked to kick their toddler around the garden.

    dogs!

anyone else get annoyed by dogs jumping all over them when they go to look at a job? if you have a dog and its mental and cant sit still, is it really too much trouble to shut the dog away for 20 mins while you have someone visting the house? you know the dogs mental. you know it cant stop jumping all over visitors. and yet you still act like its OUR fault for not wanting to get jumped on? and they always know their dog is like that. they tell you it always jumps on people. THEN LOCK THE DAMN THING AWAY! "youre ok with dogs are you?" as if its a basic human decency to suffer some mental little creature diving for your legs and weaving around you while youre trying to walk through a house? "its ok he doesnt bite" i should ducking hope not! is this just me? or does anyone else get pissed off?
  9. i refuse to price a job from a photo.
  10. however many it takes to get the job done. if its a multi-day job then depends how sucky it is. or how sucky the weather is. or how fed up i get. its like asking how long is a piece of string

  16. stihl x flex are type c with vent zips fairly robust arbotch have a couple of newer pairs with more robust outer covering but cant comment on wearability
  17. or the rigging rope you already have hooked into the tree? thats usually what i use
  18. what kind of abuse work is worth a whole chainsaw not just the chain?
  19. yes the tree surgeon should have investigated yes the sales contract probably should have picked it up if the felled tree was dead or dangerous you can have it under exemption the missing trees probably were felled under similar exemptions probably worth having a local tree surgeon help dig into where the missing ones went and straighten it up with the council sharpish so they dont hit you with it at a later date.
  20. all my chainsaws are electric battery chainsaws, charged on site using a petrol generator, or corded saws for bigger stuff, run off same generator carbon zero here we come!

    Trees and TPO

this is why you pay a professional to do it
  22. im a tree surgeon. i dont have a log fire. if those logs are at a residential/ commecial address from a tree cut on site and left, i would charge £50 to remove them. if i had a log fire and was burning them, i would pay £0 to collect from same as above. my business side is saying if i cut the tree and someone passing asks to take the logs i should suggest some beers in trade, but if im not loading them on and delivering them then logs are usually free to take as long as theyre gone when i want to clear the site. im guessing the situation here is joe bloggs had his oak tree cut down, negotiated a cheaper price for logs left on site, couldnt be arsed chopping it and is now seeking payment for you to remove something thats cluttering his garden.
  23. i agree, double washing line. see im making it at about 10 metres, but your bottom line looks slightly higher than my mark. i was taking the top of the dark brown fence panel at 2 metres. i also agree with climb and strip over a straight drop. looks more professional and however good you are on a straight drop theres a risk of taking some plants out unnecessarily and youre left with more messing to cut and stack. if it was local, id be around 200 for taking it down, brash stacked, logs stacked. 80 quid for a straight drop and go, no logging no stacking.
