  1. Sincere apologies if this has been asked before. My net is janky and so is my life. Im running a 20 inch bar through oak...its defo disease dead (beetles or something else as parts are way lighter than live oak should be.) BUt! Its a big old tree and i want to plank what I can from the trunk. Ive no mill so I know i will be spending a lot of time with the planers etc. But Its hard and slow going ripping through, and i just wondered, if anyone has had better luck with a diff type of chain? Im on half chisel. But like I say ive never tried to plank anything before...but this is too heavy to get out of a remote location to the saw mill. 🧐 Any advice greatfully recieved but bare in mind ive to be winching stuff out. Nobody is getting a band saw or claw grab in.
  2. Hi there ideally I am looking to hire a chipper for the day sometime in Dec or Jan but I'm really struggling to get hold of one in this area. Anyone know where we can rent one? I am licence holder. Or failing that would any local company be willing to come and do a mornings chipping with the volunteers? Chipping our brash is the priority but it would be nice if the vols could have a look at the machine in action and see what a bit of what the industry is like. We are also always interested in buying loose tip loads of chip if its a decent amount. All comments or advice welcome.
  3. Thanks! Have done so.
  4. Can tip any chip, logs & stumps here so long as you call first to unlock the gate. If the chip has limitations we might still take it depending on what.
  5. Anyone have any woodchip? Woodchip wanted in Whitby/Redcar area. I can use as much as anyone has so any help gratefully received. Any quality not fussy.
