Morning all. Wheres everyone buying replacement double sided blades for a 230?

Hi all. Where am I advised to buy replacement double sided blades from please, other than TW themselves? Any to really avoid?

Ok thanks to all for the replies, certainly plenty to think about. On balance it seems its illegal but I'll call EH again & see if they'll put their response into writing, doubtful I know. Or maybe just easier to take the merry widow the odd bottle.

Hi all. We have permission from a farmer to have the occasional burn up of unsuitable wood/palms, roots etc. Its in a deep, purpose built concrete square & theres only one house within a quarter mile, otherwise farmland. On the rare occasion we burn, maybe once every 2/3 months, we check the wind direction isn't towards her house & stay on site until its almost gone. The lone woman in that house threatens to call fire brigade, environmental health etc the next time we burn but I've spoken to the farmer who is fine & suggests the odd bottle of wine to keep her calm but I don't want to start that. We even call the fire brigade if the green stuff will cause smoke & I called the local environmental health yesterday to ask for their opinion. They said no problem so long we continue to be considerate but really my question is...at what point does our waste to be burnt become industrial waste? Its mostly the result of domestic work & I assume once loaded onto our vans, it becomes our property? Am I wrong do you think?

Thanks for replies. Looks like its not worth the bother, even if there was a higher authority. I'll have to continue making the applications which in turn, unnecessarily (IMO) ties up the overworked TO. I know he already has a huge backlog so was trying not to add more for him.

Hi all. Anyone have experience of applying to review/revoke a TPO? Situation is that there is a narrow (3mtrs X 80Mtrs) strip of land that was given Group tpo status due to a double row of young alders, in 1999, about the time the houses were built around it. Numerous house owners have contacted me over the years to have these reduced/pollarded as they completely overshade/ cause debris in their tiny back gardens. No problems as the LA has always granted it & work carried out. However about 8/9 years ago previous Tree Officers (one of who has common sense & big balls despite being female!) at the LA suggested the TPO was unnecessary & suggested I request a lifting of the order to save everyones time & effort as any amenity value had been lost when the houses were built. I put this question by email to the LA & had the curt reply "there is no process available to review a TPO". Being unimpressed I called the LA & was told the exact same reply, as they'd had a 'meeting' about my question. Surely theres a higher authority to appeal this, but thought I'd ask here first. Local authority shows it as poplar but looks more like Tree of Heaven. Shall keep looking.

Hi all. As the heading says, we're looking to replace an old Tirfor, used mostly to get a loaded Transit out of mud (or wet grass!). I was thinking there might be something runs off a 12v battery & could be anchored to a tree?

I'm thinking lilac but if anyone can confirm, I'd be grateful.

Morning all. Re the excellent chip site directory. I called one this morning at Ashford, Kent (Littlebrook road). They last took chip 2 years ago & no longer need it.

This charitable trust are easy to deal with, although lately we've not worked nearby. They have numerous animals for which they require all woodchip. However they also have horses so will take sycamore, so long as you tell them where exactly it is left. Staff member Catherine called me today asking that I put the word out locally.

Having had the Evo165d SE (45hp) for about 6 months, I can say that its been a real asset for us. GM telephone support from Jase & the team has been excellent & my worry re not having the turntable were misplaced. 205...hmmm...

Re the original thread title, I can now answer my own question having had the use of Greenmech's Evo165d (25hp) for the last week while our Quadchip was being looked at. First off, I'm smit. It's plain to see that their r & d people have been busy, the whole feel/use had a heavier weight (yes, I know, it is heavier). Consumption & general processing, inc those awkward forks that got put to one side for 'later', was far quicker. The throw was enough to cause small dents to the ally box bulkhead so theres no need to unhitch to get the shute closer. Miss the turntable? Yes, no doubt that was handy feature in tight domestic or roadside situations but we preferred the quicker processing once the machine was set up. Having a slightly narrower track was a bonus for our small workshop so everything considered, we opted for the bigger (45hp) diesel as being old, I believe in less stress. Just wondering it GM would paint it pink or camo to deter thieves.

Hi all. Used to be regular on here a few years ago but business took off & found I had no spare time. Anyway, I hope this subject hasn't been already spoken of but we're starting to find our Quadchip 160 is a bit lightweight for the sort of stuff we're doing so wondered if anyone has experience of the GM165EVO. Cost at £21.5k is slightly less than the 160 but I'm told its built of heavier plate due to having no turntable. Any opinions please?
