  1. I have used varitooth blades on my wood shop 12 inch bandsaw and have been really impressed with them. Are they available for horizontal bandsaw mills and has anyone ever used them?
  2. Any ideas what wood this is? Found in a friends shed...
  3. Ok many thanks for all your help. Robina it is then!
  4. I have split this log into quarters as I plan to use it for bow making... It had a fairly distinctive musty smell and was very stringy when split... Some folks on a bow building site have questioned the black locust suggestion ?... could it be elm? Or something else?
  5. Can some one tell me if the timber from ash that has been felled in the UK because of this disease is badly affected by the disease?
  6. Oh I forgot to add - this is not in the UK it’s in Kenya, East Africa - I know that probably makes it even harder to ID. Not sure why so few leaves. I was thinking some type of guava?
  7. Many thanks ... are u sure? Someone else suggested it’s Laburnum?
  8. I found this wood in a friends barn in Oxfordshire ... any suggestions? It feels quite dense. Any help would be much appreciated. Thanks
