  1. We will be milling some of the timber but a lot will have to be burned. Thanks Dave
  2. We have some large elm trees which are dying of ded, they will have to be felled soon. We would like to replace them with a more resilient strain of elm. Firstly any recommendations of elms we could replace with and second what would we need to do with the ground/ soil before replanting ? The existing elms are 150 years old and about 80+ ft tall
  3. Is there any reason why you shouldn't Pollard trees at 1.5m when there are no live stock present
  4. The trees are on the edge of a path but next to a meadow which was dry last summer up until late September when it flooded. It's a high footfall area, so I am concerned about what damage this may have caused to the trees. Any advice ? Thanks Dave
  5. We have some mature willows with tear like features on some of the main stems, it looks like lighting strikes about 8- 10 feet long but they are height up and don't reach the ground. There are about 15 trees in a row spread over 300 yards. Has anyone any idea what would cause this and what problems are associated with this
