  1. This seems to be the problem with getting insurance for doing the tree work as we are only volunteers and need to get cover on that basis as volunteers if we have a unpaid contractor which would be classed as an employee even though unpaid I was told by my committee that the law would change from civil liability risk to criminal liability and much more wider H & S controls would be required.
  2. As I’ve said, I’m qualified to do tree work and we are a limited company already and the rest of the volunteers are only dragging brash etc not using any saws or doing any climbing. I’m not wanting to use my insurance as I’m doing the work for free and my insurance would not cover all the rest of the volunteers who are on site working with myself.
  3. they had a work party of volunteers and while doing maintenance work one of the volunteers was hit by a falling tree and unfortunately died what I heard they had no adequate insurance and paperwork in place. The lake I’m on the committee wants to make sure they have enough cover for the work we want to do.
  4. I would love to just crack on but the committee has to tick all the box’s as a Birmingham angling club got fined 66k for not having all relevant insurance in place as someone died.
  5. I know what you mean, Asking my insurance company about this and if I did a nominal fee it could be seen I was doing it for cash for the amount of work I was doing. It’s a bit of a minefield trying to find someone.
  6. Hello Mick, I do have a tree surgery business but don’t want to use my own public liability as I’m a shareholder of the lake and we all pay a yearly maintenance fee towards the upkeep of the lake.
  7. Can anyone give me a company that will cover tree work for doing tree work around a private fishing lake. Bit complex, the lake is privately owned by shareholders and all the work is carried out by members on a voluntary basis. There is a lot of tree work to do which I as a shareholder has offered to do FOC but is difficult in finding someone to insure us. we are a LTD company and all work is done by volunteers to keep down the costs. The fishing lake is private so not used as a business as we don’t make profit. We are looking for Full public liability, tool insurance and liability cover for volunteers who work on site ie, grass cutting, basic maintenance and tree work from rope and harness, tree work to be done by qualified volunteers and spraying also by qualified operator. We have tried Beech Tree entertainment but don’t seem to want to know regarding work from rope and harness. if anyone has any advise or know of anyone who would insure us would be much appreciated.
  8. I am selling a cs100 18hp , had a clock on it since new only done 42 hrs. Its a 2017 engine been stored undercover. Like a new machine. Only selling it as getting no use out of it as getting on a bit so not climbing as much. Im in Bournemouth, Dorset. Looking for £4200ovno no vat.
  9. I still need my trailer, it’s not the greenmech one for the chipper it’s a large Ivor Williams which I still use. I usually get the chipper in my van using the ramps and then strop it down.
  10. THIS ADVERT HAS EXPIRED!

    • FOR SALE
    • USED

For sale Greenmech CS100 18hp wood chipper for sale. Good little chipper for someone starting out or ideal for getting into back gardens and chipping waste on beds. Had since new. Had time clock put on when I bought it. Has a set of ramps and strops to get into van or trailer. Also it has its own wooden shed which if you dismantle you can have for free. Reason for selling not getting as much use now.

    £5,400

  11. I have a green mech cs100 18hp had since new only done 41 hours on the clock as had one fitted when I bought it. Im in Bournemouth Dorset reason for selling is doesn’t get much usage. I have a set of ramps and strops to tie it down in trailer or van. comes with manuals. Looking for £5200
  12. Had a Monterey Pine limb fail over the weekend noticed these small white brackets under some bark that had fallen off. They appear to be up to shoulder height around the trunk. Just wondering if anyone can ID as client has row of these and it’s the second limb to fail in 3 months. The last limb to go was from a neighboring tree. The crown has been getting thinner slowly over the last 18 months, I’ve put this down to the drought we had a couple of summers ago. The trees are in a very high target area. Thanks in advance.
