  1. not only has she been emailing the council, but also a councillor and our MP ?
  2. Found the culprit. My husband mentioned the trees to our neighbour and she said she'd been emailing the council over and over again asking them to cut the trees back because she is annoyed by the seeds and leaves falling onto her lawn. I guess some people like looking at a barren car park from their window and not hearing the sounds of birds in the morning. Takes all sorts!
  3. Noted re. the ivy I'm not sure about the wall panels. I've been here nearly 5 years, and nothing has changed in that time
  4. Well, I've contacted the Council myself just to register my own moan and ask for details on why this has been done. I can't see any trees interfering with the wall at the moment so I really hope there are no plans to remove them
  5. Thank you everyone for your replies. They are quite reassuring! I've lived here for about 5 years and this hasn't happened before, so I'd guess that the Council isn't doing this too regularly.
  6. I think you are right Paul. The seeds they drop look like Sycamore seeds. It's quite sad if this has been done for the benefit of someone's car.
  7. Thanks for your replies! Steve, yes they are Council trees. To my embarrassment I'm not actually sure of the variety but this is them pre-pruning (also without leaves). I will hope as you say that they'll come back as before.
  8. Hi there I'm new to the forum and am hoping someone can help me with a question. Some much-beloved trees in front of my house (pictured) have just been drastically pruned, and I am trying to figure out whether they have been pollarded or topped. I've tried to read up on this but to my untrained eye it's hard to make the distinction. I'm hoping that no damage has been done to them! Many thanks in advance Sophie
