  1. Na shorts don't worry me I just take care. Using the winch helps the entering and exiting the log. I always use my ppe when felling the trees but not when it's in the mill. I should really too. The bar on this is a 59" sthil bar. But I also run a 66" Canon bar on my MS 880.
  2. thanks for the info I will give this a try see how it goes, since adding a stronger bar across the length of the depth adjusters this has dramatically improved the cutting finish.
  3. Thank you very much for your reply, lots of good points to try. I will let you know how I get on. Kind regards
  4. I will do, got 44" lime to mill soon. Kind regards
  5. I will do this when I got the bar, I always check for square each time I use it so will do this again. Kind regards
  6. Perfect I will give this a try. It does make sense as it's perfect with the smaller bar. Thanks for your help.
  7. The mill is made from 5mm inch X inch box. I thought this too but lay the mill on a flat surface and use a spirit level both box sections are perfectly straight. I personally think the sthil bar is sagging due to the length. I will check everything again to be certain. Kind regards
  8. The now is on the bar of the chainsaw. The boards are perfect length wise but bow from side to Side. They are 3" consistent across but bowed. It's hard to see but there is 15 100mm screws in the ladder holding it in position. See a rough drawn illustration of what I mean. Kind regards
  9. The bow is on the bar of the chainsaw. The boards are perfect length wise but bow from side to Side. They are 3" consistent across but bowed.
  10. Evening all, I need some advice please from anyone that does large boards with a chainsaw mill. I have an ms880 with a 59" sthil bar and ripping chain. I have noticed that when I mill the boards they are never completely plat. There appears to be a bow in the board. Is this common when running such a long bar? Kind regards
