  1. Hi just getting into tree surgeon line of work and will be getting my chainsaw licence soon. Was just wandering what are people’s views on the husky 340 as a start off saw? Seen one for sale second hand at reasonable price but wanted to know if they’re any good. The few companies I work with at the moment all use sthil saws.
  2. Pfanner do look like top end in price maybe a little over my budget although they are probably worth the investment. Is there any less pricey brands anyone can recommend but still high quality?
  3. I’ve been wearing shorts for the last few weeks I’ve been bit by that many horse flies my legs look like elephant mans head ???
  4. I don’t think the missus will let me out to work in chaps she might get jealous ???
  5. Cheers, yeah think will start off with type A while I’ll be doing mainly ground work till I’ve saved enough to do my climbing and I hear the type C are a bit uncomfortable to wear whilst running about on the ground. Will check the Pfanner out now.
  6. Hi, Ive recently started as a self employed labourer for a couple of tree surgeon firms originally to tie me over the summer whilst on break from uni. Since working outdoors, mainly on the chipper, I’ve enjoyed it so much, so much so I’m wanting to save up to do a climbing course so I can get up in the trees and do this full time. I’ve decided that I’m gonna do this full time and hopefully set up my own company in the future. But first things first, there’s so many brands of ppe was wondering what do recommend on buying? For example what are the best value for money type A and type C chainsaw trousers? Thanks, Paddy
