    HI, On balance I am not going to find the part anytime soon, so I have forked out for the part listed above on e bay. Thanks again for suggesting this- should be up and running in no time....

    HI Shavey, do you know of anybody- dealer etc with a brake band  P/N 030213160 for a Makita ( Dolmar ) DCS 6000i . Makita cannot supply these anymore , so my saw is pretty useless right now...

    Anybody know of a dealer who has a Makita DCS 6000i brake spring ( brake band ) P/N 030213160 still in stock? Makita have discontinued this item which makes a very good chainsaw - albeit getting on a few years- totally obsolete. Every other part seems to be available so I can only guess this is a part which breaks more than anything else and the old stock has been used up... The part is specific to the DCS 6000i and DCs 6800i - the part for the 5000 series is still available but it it does not fit....
