  1. Good morning, I am looking at getting a box of spares for my saws, apart from Chain Catchers and Chain Breaks, can anyone please recommend any more parts worth picking up? Are there any common issues, both saws are manufactured 2018. My background is straight from training and just starting out, I am quick cleaning and checking my saws every night after use on the day, planning on doing a pukka strip, inspection and clean every Friday. Happy with re-calibrating the m tronics, planning on every Friday after reassembly and when there's a significant shift in the temperature/humidity. Am I getting this right... Thanks for your time in reading, hopefully I can get some feed back, might seam a little bone to some but would rather be not scared in asking compared to sitting in doubt, not being prepared, not being safe and ultimately fucking my saws.
  2. Hey I am no expert, I covered the use of winch briefly during CS 31 and then a lot more in depth during CS 32 for hung up trees. I am due to go back down South East in two weeks to conduct CS 50 with Sawpod where I believe we will be training with them again. Maybe someone else will post with more information but check these in the mean time... https://www.nptc.org.uk/qualificationschemes.aspx?id=9 And specifically... https://www.nptc.org.uk/qualificationschemedetail.aspx?id=345 For Training in the South East / Hampshire Area definitely no harm in calling Sawpod. Hope this helps.
  3. Winching as in assisted felling? Could try Tony Darbyshire with Sawpod Ltd
  4. Thanks for all the input and advice, much appreciated. I trained with SawPod Ltd in the end and couldn't recommend Tony Darbyshire enough! When I was down there I managed to train with Powell Training on the off days from Saw Pod, for Wood Chipper/Stump Grinder Certification as well as Thames Training for EFAW+F, all locally to where I was staying (Larkhill). If anyone reads this who is interested in any of the above or is a Service Leaver, feel free to message me and hopefully I can answer any questions or quires. Best wishes.
  5. Exactly as the title, I am looking at booking courses and weighing up several providers, wondering if anyone can share some wisdom and there experiences? Leaving the forces seams a daunting prospect some times, Just want to make the right moves. Cheers, HH
